BACH, THE MUSICAL PREACHER

We are waiting to hear the version of the Passion according to Saint John with Edward Higginbottom. This is the first passion that Bach, the musical preacher, wrote in 1724; a liturgical work of great dramatic strength. The richness of the music that the composer wrote for this text, is impressive and extraordinary: it transmits the pain of Jesus' suffering and at the same time asserts, reassures us and frees the spirit. Conductor Edward Higginbottom returns with the Instruments of Time & Truth orchestra and the Oxford Consort of Voices choir, who have already marveled us twice with the Messiah of Händel.
